Sr. Project Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review, assess, and initiate action to maintain project schedule completion, track budget, and contract changes
  • Determine labor and equipment needs for job site, tracking of costs, etc.
  • Maintain regular verbal and written reports to designated employer, upper management, supervisor, as well as key representatives or partner team
  • Must have the ability and experience to prepare project schedule from scratch
  • Works closely with management to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations
  • Pursue, build and maintain strong relationships in the industry to generate and enhance business opportunities
  • Review project plans, requirements and specifications
  • Understand bid documents and assess project risks
  • Perform pre-construction duties; attend meetings with Clients and Owners

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited four-year college or university, Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • Fifteen (15) years min. experience in project management within heavy civil construction 
  • Local knowledge and experience
  • Capacity to organize and manage large labor teams
  • Extensive knowledge in the area of cost for labor, materials, etc.
  • Ability to review and address technical issues with solutions in a timely manner
  • Federal, state and local knowledge and experience
  • Ability to create and manage project schedule utilizing Primavera P6 software
  • Knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Communication – excellent oral presentation and written skills
  • Goal oriented – able to set goals and achieve them
  • Interpersonal – able to work well and persuade people at all organization levels
  • Organizational ability – able to plan, prioritize, organize and monitor activities and projects. Able to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach
  • Travel may be required as needed.
