Security Systems Administrator JOB SUMMARY Protects computer systems and networks from the theft and/or damage to hardware, software, or information, as an essential part of the work of MAF so that the Gospel is proclaimed and God's Kingdom is extended.        ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), a 70-year-old Christian nonprofit organization, is seeking people who share our passion for seeing the Great Commission carried out near and far. MAF operates globally, but its headquarters are located in Nampa, Idaho. As a part of this organization, this position is a vital part in bringing the Gospel, healthcare, education, disaster relief, food and clean water to isolated people in developing countries. Essential Functions Essential Functions Details 50%Systems Security •Monitors networks for security breaches, investigating violations as occurs •Develops and supports organizational security standards, best practices, preventative measures, and disaster recovery plans •Conducts penetration tests (simulating cyberattacks to find vulnerabilities before others can find them) •Reports on security breaches to users, as necessary, and to upper management •Implements and updates software to protect information •Stays up-to-date on IT security trends and information •Recommends security enhancements to management •Monitors logs, firewalls, antivirus, and SSL certificates •Creates network policies and authorization roles for file access 30%System Administration •Maintains and supports headquarters' network hardware and software such as servers, backup systems, email systems, intranet, network routers, power systems, DNS, and filtering •Maintains and supports global/standard field systems and services •Participates in the on-call rotation, providing off hours and weekend support to ensure system availability •Stays up-to-date on IT trends and information •Assists Helpdesk staff to resolve user-related issues •Assists with training and support of field IT staff •As needed, liaises between field accountants, headquarters (HQ), and outside accountants •Assists staff with accounting-related software inquiries 20% Security Training •Develops curriculum in computer systems security in order to educate MAF staff in risks and best practices •Actively works to increase knowledge of other department staff in systems and services security Required Responsibilities This position requires an active commitment to the mission, values, and doctrinal stance of MAF. Bachelor's degree Systems Administration Preferred OR

Equivalent combination of education and experience


5 Years Information security experience REQUIRED

5 Years Experience with Windows and/or Linux administration REQUIRED

Skills and Abilities

Intermediate knowledge/understanding of Windows server environments And

Intermediate knowledge/understanding of Linux server environments Or

Advanced knowledge/understanding of Server and network-based services, network architectures and concepts And

Intermediate knowledge/understanding of TCP/IP-based systems And

Advanced knowledge/understanding of Security related experience including: forensic, cyber threat, malware, security tools, security analytics, and security administration And

Intermediate knowledge/understanding of Background in IT infrastructure, applications, databases, operating systems, IP networks, vulnerability management tools And

Advanced knowledge/understanding of Experience managing security infrastructure, and firewalls And

Intermediate knowledge/understanding of Experience managing cloud applications
