Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 ½ pounds of Brussels sprouts
  • 3 Tablespoons of olive oil
  •  Kosher salt and black pepper to taste 
  • Optional: blue cheese, bacon and pecans


Preheat oven to 400F.  As you wash the sprouts, drain and remove the edges and yellow leaves. Mix sprouts in a bowl or sealed bag with salt, freshly ground pepper and oil. When they are well covered, place them in the oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes. Stir occasionally or until lightly browned. Serve hot!

If you prefer, you can add a couple of tablespoons of shredded blue cheese, chopped pecans and ¼ pound of bacon (chopped) and degreased in a frying pan.
