Seafood Rice Dish

  • 3 cups of rice
  • 5 cups of water or hot fish broth
  • ½ pounds of clean squid, sliced.
  • 1 red pepper
  • ½ minced onion
  • ½ Green pepper
  • 1 cup of shrimp
  • 1 cup of fresh peas or can peas
  • ½ teaspoon of saffron or food coloring
  • 3 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 can of mussels (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


In a pot, cook fish, shrimp and squid with water on medium fire for 5 minutes. Remove shrimp and peel. Then add fish cut into small squares. Finally, slice squid in pieces or rings and set broth aside.

Heat pot again on medium fire. Add oil and fry red pepper sliced in strips. Remove and set aside to decorate rice at the end.  Then fry onion with green pepper cut into small squares and add rice. Stir and cook for 1 minute. Add seafood and fish (hold mussels)

Pour hot broth, add peas and seasoning. Cover pot and when boiling, lower fire to the minimum and cook for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with the mussels and fried red peppers.
