Uptown Billiards Club has become one of Portland's hottest dining rooms... and for good reason. Nathan Bates, chef at Portland's Lucy's Table for the last half-dozen years, originally moved to UBC to work under our outgoing chef, the man the NY Times called The Best Seafood Chef in Canada. Now Nathan, already one of Portland's top-10 chefs has taken the reins at UBC with a creative license that he has dreamed of his entire career. Combine Nate?s food with a wine list that will drop your jaw, and you?ve got the beginnings of the perfect night out. The second half of your night can be just as memorable. Uptown Billiards is an elegant version of a ?pool room,? with brass chandeliers hanging over 150-year-old (replica) pool tables, a beautiful antique bar built in Belgium in the late 1800s, and a playful atmosphere you won?t find elsewhere in town.
