VP of Engineering Global Membership APP

Mobile experiences play a key differentiator role for deepening digital member engagement via the Global Membership App. The VP, Engineering – Global Membership App will be responsible for driving the delivery of new features and capabilities of the global membership app via innovative technology tools and practices. This leader will encompass a unique blend of strong leadership and an in-depth engineering skillset especially with modern application development technologies. This leader will drive software delivery and support through a team of direct reports that include Engineering Directors and technical leads.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive vision and execution of the global membership app.
  • Attract, retain and grow top engineering talent across the organization, providing guidance, career development and mentorship to team members
  • Foster innovation and experimentation, delivering software solutions that meet or exceed customer and stakeholder expectations, often helping shape business requirements in a manner that optimally leverages technology teams
  • Deliver/develop software and tools that provides superior user experiences, linking customer needs and business drivers together through innovative product engineering and automation 
  • Cultivate an environment of engineering excellence and continuous improvement, leading changes that drive efficiencies into existing engineering and delivery processes improvements 
  • Own accountability for all quality aspects and metrics of product/platform portfolio, including system performance, platform availability, operational efficiency, risk management, information security, data management and cost effectiveness
  • Work with key stakeholders to drive software/tool solutions that align to strategic roadmaps, prioritized initiatives and strategic technology directions
  • Work with peers, Platform owners to assimilate new technology and delivery methods into scalable software solutions, leveraging and contributing to engineering best practices across the company

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of large-scale technology delivery in a complex environment, with depth in user experience development
  • Large scale software product engineering experience with modern practices for user experience development (ex: java, Swift, Kotlin, DevOps, CI/CD, Agile, etc.)
  • Extensive experience as a leader within a Technology organization and/or in a product development company with experience that compliments the software product portfolio
  • Proven experience attracting, hiring, retaining and leading top engineering talent and building high performing teams in a highly competitive market
  • Deep understanding of the Product / Technology Platform’s underlying tech stack and its core components
  • Hands-on expertise in one or more relevant technologies
  • Strong systems integration architecture skills and a high degree of technical expertise, ranging across a number of technologies with a proven track record of turning new technologies into business solutions
  • Experience managing in a fast paced, complex and dynamic global environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
