Under the supervision of a specialist, you will be part of a team responsible for performing a range of manual labor duties including, lifting and moving materials, loading and unloading lawn care products from vehicles, digging and refilling holes and routine grounds maintenance tasks.
Education and Experience Requirements
The position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and up to 1 year related experience or training in landscaping or customer service. Applicants must have a valid driver’s licenses with a clean driving record and current liability auto insurance required. Applicant must be 21 years of age by date of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Applicants must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English and have the ability to communicate in one-on-one and small group situations with customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Applicants should be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide and use common fractions and decimals.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
The job has physical demands, including to sit, stand and walk and use your hands and arms to handle, feel or reach for equipment and materials. Occasionally you will be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift or move up to 25 lbs.
1. Read schedule and work orders to determine items to be moved or serviced.
2. Get materials and items from receiving to storage and record amounts received or distributed.
3. Operate equipment such as a lawn tractor, spreaders, aerators and seeders.
4. Perform routine maintenance in accordance with established safety procedures.
5. Interact with the customers to receive directions.
6. Engage in snow or ice removal from walks, driveways or parking lots.
7. Rake and mulch leaves, aerate, seed, fertilize, mow and/or repair damaged lawns.
8. Assist in the pruning of trees and shrubs.
9. Drive vehicle to production locations and assigned areas.
