RN - Flex Team I - Diagnostic Imaging (Days) PRN

Responsible for the delivery of excellence in patient care through assessing, formulating nursing diagnoses and establishing goals, planning and implementing intervention and evaluating patient care outcomes. The nurse will be a patient advocate ensuring privacy, confidentiality, and dignity. The Radiology Nurse will rotate through the general diagnostic, interventional, angiographic, Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Swat areas. RN's will be on call for emergency procedures 24 hours a day. With the staff nurse's professional practice he/she Responsible for participating in and maintaining quality assurance and guest relations standards.
1. Maintains responsibility for continuity of quality care to the patient in Radiology
2. Educates & Prepares patients for interventional procedures
3. Assists the Radiologists with procedures & treatments requiring professional nursing skills
4. Administers medications with proper technique & documentation
5. Expedites exams in acutely ill patients
6. Provides for patient & family education utilizing printed information & post-procedure instructions
7. Inservices nursing & technical staff regarding Radiology related topics
8. Assists with the orientation of nurses, physicians, technologists & students
9. Acts as a resource person for Radiology staff
10. Acts as a liaison between Radiology & nursing units
11. Participates in the development of policies & procedures specific to Radiology
12. Monitors emergency equipment
13. Monitors stock medication & controlled drugs
14. Provides follow-up regarding contrast & medication reactions
15. Enforces strict infection control standards & reports non-adherence to the appropriate managers
