    What We Celebrate on Labor Day?

    Today we celebrate Labor Day  in the United States, but do you know what is the origin of this celebration? The first Monday in September Labor Day celebration is held and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It is an annual national tribute to the contributions of workers who have built with the strength the prosperity and welfare of the United States. In 1884 the first Monday in September was selected as the Labour Day as originally proposed, and the Central Labour Union urged similar organizations in other cities to follow the example of New York and celebrate a “party of the workers” in that date. The idea spread with the growth of labor organizations, and to 1885 Labor Day was celebrated in many industrial centers of the country. Beginning in 1894, the first Monday in September was designated “National Day of Work”, a date set by President Grover Cleveland. More than 100 years after the first Labor Day celebration, there is still some doubt as to who first proposed the holiday for workers. Labor Day Parade 1942, Detroit Some records show that Peter J.     How to Measure our Progress During Therapy

    It makes us nervous when we do not know how much longer we have to do therapy. Yes, it is quite a particular feeling, but there is a way to discover whether or not we are progressing.   We can consider moments of emotional impact before and during therapy.  And it is important to find a psychologist we trust. We can observe how impacting these moments are and how we react to these situations.  If we are honest with ourselves we can deduct if we have advanced, and how our clinical therapy is progressing.   Would you like more tips to know if you are really moving forward?   Before therapy get a notebook and note the following points: Qualify the emotional impact of these events from 1 to 10. Analyze your reactions to influential movements. Describe the situations before and during therapy. Analyze small degrees of progress. Then register the same once the therapy is concluded, or every 10 days.     Yes, summer is almost gone and we know it because this is Labor Day weekend!  Vacations are over, a new school year begins and this weekend is one of the last to enjoy Summer time doing outdoor activities. There are endless outdoor activities we can do and enjoy. For example, barbecues with friends and neighbours, last minute getaways or yard games with kids and family. So I decided to give you some fantastic ideas to say goodbye to Summer properly! BBQ with friends:  This is the typical event of Labor Day and it is ideal if you have a big family or if you want to invite many friends and  neighbours. Traditionally, this is the last get-together before fall.  To lessen the stress, make each guest to bring a dish. Ideally you can create a summerly menu with fresh ingredients like vegetables, grilled corn, brochettes with beef, pork, chicken or vegetarian style, salads, ice cream bars and fruits juices.     How many times we have spoken with a friend or acquaintance and told us he or she is depressed?
